Entries for the Lifetime Achievement Award are open all year round. To be considered for the 2026 awards, please submit your suggestion by midnight on Friday 26 June.
All suggestions are added to our ongoing list of individuals considered for the Lifetime Achievement Award. If your nominee isn’t selected this year, they may still be considered for future awards.  Each year, the list is reviewed in the context of that year’s awards.

About the Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises an exceptional individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Hull and East Yorkshire business community over a significant period of time.

This award celebrates a business leader whose career has not only delivered commercial success, but has also created long-term positive impact for the local economy, workforce and wider community. It is about recognising those who have given back as well as paid it forward – leaving a legacy that will continue to benefit the region for years to come.

The recipient will be someone who is widely respected, has demonstrated sustained leadership and integrity, and whose influence has helped shape, strengthen and champion Hull and East Yorkshire as a place to do business, invest and thrive.

Eligibility & criteria

Nominees should meet the following criteria and demonstrate evidence of:

Long-term commitment to the region

  • A sustained and long-standing commitment to Hull and East Yorkshire, demonstrated over many years.
  • A clear track record of sustained involvement and contribution to the local business landscape

Business leadership & achievement

  • Senior leadership experience as a business owner, founder, director or senior leader
  • Proven success in growing, leading or transforming an organisation
  • A reputation for strong leadership, professionalism and ethical practice

Positive economic impact

  • Demonstrable contribution to local economic growth, job creation or skills development
  • Support for supply chains, SMEs or sector growth within the region

Community & social contribution

  • Evidence of giving back to the community through either:
    • Charity or voluntary work
    • Mentoring and supporting future business leaders
    • Engagement with education, skills or employability initiatives
    • Support for local causes, organisations or partnerships

Legacy & lasting influence

  • A career that has created a lasting positive legacy
  • Influence that goes beyond their own business to benefit the wider region
  • A role model who has helped raise aspirations and standards across Hull and East Yorkshire
